All those asking where is Carlos Sianz going in 2025, the answer is he is going to Williams Racing. After Lewis Hamilton's announcement of signing with Ferrari in the beginning of the 2024 F1 Season, Carlos Sianz was the most discussed driver signing for 2025.
When he starts for Williams in Melbourne in March 2025 , he will be one of only 3 drivers to race for Ferrari, McLaren and Williams, which are the top 3 constructors by races entered in formula 1.
The other two drivers who have raced for these 3 historical teams are 4 times world champion Alain Prost and 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell.
Constructor | Entries | Starts | Wins | Win % |
Ferrari | 1090 | 1088 | 245 | 22.5% |
McLaren | 964 | 960 | 185 | 19.3% |
Williams | 817 | 816 | 114 | 14.0% |
The careers of these 3 men have even more similarities. Both Carlos Sianz and Alain Prost have raced for works Renault teams as well, while Nigel Mansell raced for Lotus that eventually became Renault.
Carlos Sianz has raced only with Renault, Mercedes and Ferrari power units, and shall continue to use Mercedes PU in 2025.
And yes, now both Williams drivers in 2025 do not have an appendix. Does that help in lap time ? Let's see.
